Candy Cane Lane to bring a holiday glow and goodwill to West Allis

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- West Allis is preparing for the annual illumination of Candy Cane Lane, a traditional event that dazzles visitors with festive lights, starting Friday, Nov. 24 at 6 p.m. The event's large collection of holiday lights typically marks an unofficial start to the holiday season.

Candy Cane Lane has been a tradition since 1985, annually transforming the area between Oklahoma and Montana Avenues, and 92nd and 96th Streets, into a winter wonderland.

Residents in this West Allis neighborhood adorn their homes with vibrant lights and decorations, creating a festive atmosphere for visitors. The event, running until Christmas Day, is not only a visual treat but also serves a charitable purpose.

Candy Cane Lane has raised over $3 million for the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Fund since 1985, supporting critical research in the fight against childhood cancer and related blood disorders. Visitors to the neighborhood are encouraged to enjoy the display by driving or walking through, with the option to make at-will donations to support the MACC Fund.

For those interested in contributing to the cause or seeing a full schedule of events, including Santa's appearances and rules-of-the-road while in the neighborhood during key hours, CandyCaneLaneWI.com has more details online.
