Natalie Shepherd will showcase Carthage on CBS 58 news on Tuesday and Thursday, featuring the school during a time that is particularly exciting on campus, as it gears up for its 149th annual Christmas Festival this weekend.

Beyond the joy of music, Natalie will also showcase some of the more unique aspects of Carthage's academic portfolio, including its status as the school heading the state's NASA Space Grant Consortium, leading the way on many Space Science initiatives from childhood through adulthood.

Also, are you a fan of video games? Carthage has an Esports squad that has become an officially recognized varsity sports team, and while the students are not throwing balls into baskets, they take electronic gaming to a whole new level: competitive sports.

There are more surprises to see about Carthage, so stay tuned all week as the 58 Hometowns tour explores Carthage College.

To kick things off, we were joined live by Ashley Hanson, vice president for enrollment at Carthage, on Tuesday, Nov. 28. She previewed what is to come during the weeklong feature of Carthage!

Michael Schlesinger took a look at one of the favorite food stops at Carthage on Tuesday, Nov. 28!

Patrons say The Daily Dose Café, ten minutes from Carthage College in Kenosha, is a terrific local breakfast place with tasty, fun food.  It specializes in hearty breakfast sandwiches, wraps and special paninis like the French toast kind and delicious beef one as well.

But it's just not college kids: it's people for people of all ages, including lots of regulars. They say they have had 16 years of success, with the hopes of many more years to come. They also have special monthly fundraisers with money going back into the community.

The location is at 6010 40th Ave. in Kenosha.
