CBS 58's Feel Good Friday: Movies, markets, magic and meals by the shore
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's weekend scene offers a lot of events that even go beyond Summerfest 2023 winding down for its final weekend. From outdoor movies to birthday celebrations and blueberry picking, Joe Krauss of B93.3 joined us on Friday, July 7 to talk about them all.
At Milwaukee’s Veterans Park on Saturday, July 8, Gift of Wings and Milwaukee County Parks are hosting Summer Night Movies. The park becomes a hub of family-friendly activity from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. as "Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile" is screened under the stars.
Also on Saturday, Ruckus & Glee in Wauwatosa is celebrating its eighth birthday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a free family event. The celebration features a sidewalk sale, magic show, balloon animals and activity stations.
Jelli's Market in Helenville, about 45 minutes west of Milwaukee, kicks off its blueberry picking season. The farm store is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers an assortment of goods including jam, homemade pies, meat, eggs, honey, maple syrup, soap, and sewn items.
On Sunday, July 9, Lakeshore State Park invites the public for Brunch by the Beach from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event offers music, food, and family-friendly activities. Attendees can learn about eggs and the life cycles of the park’s wildlife at the DNR booth, and Plastic-Free MKE will share information on the health, environmental, and climate impacts of plastic.
