MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The family of 19-year-old Isaiah Fuentez says he was hit head-on by a drunk driver in the early morning hours on July 20.
Alyiah Fuentez is his sister and says her brother was driving home on I-94 near the Lakefront exit when he was hit head-on.
“It’s so unfair to these young innocent people that are just driving doing nothing wrong,” Fuentez said. “Why is it that we have to be careful with what we’re doing because of these people’s choices?”
The family says Isaiah has already had three surgeries and is still in the hospital almost a week after the crash.
“Isaiah is only 19 years old, and no 19-year-old should go through this,” Fuentez said.
According to a police report sent to the family, the wrong-way driver passed by 4 cars before hitting Isaiah.
“We are scared how he’s going to feel after he leaves here,” Fuentez said. “He just told me today dang I’m kind of scared to go behind a wheel.”
