Celebrate art! Brady Street Art Walk takes place Aug. 20

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thirty-five artists will take to the streets to create art while attendees watch as part of the Brady Street Art Walk Saturday, Aug. 20.

Hosted by Brady Street Business Improvement District (BID #11) and Scout Gallery, this year's artists are between ages of 20 and 70, and attendees can talk with the artists about their work and some will have artwork for sale.

The grand opening of the new Lilliput Records, formerly The Exclusive Company, will also host a pop-up on Brady Street and celebrate their opening weekend, Aug. 19-21.

According to a news release, Scout Gallery owners, Jeff and Dana Redmon, are curating the Brady St Art Walk for a second year. The Redmons have selected a variety of well-known and new artists to participate. This year’s Art Walk artists will include the highly popular John Kowalczyk. John’s use of vibrant color and stunning subject matter has made him an in-demand artist in the Milwaukee area. Local painter Liala Amin, whose “allegorical feminine surrealism” paintings are as thought provoking as they are beautiful, will be stationed at Nomad World Pub. Muralist Drew York, known for his work with the House of RAD, will also be a must-see and will be stationed at the decommissioned Firehouse.

The Brady Street Art Walk runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
