MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Dozens of people from Milwaukee's Black community gathered at Atkinson Park on Saturday, Aug. 31 to celebrate the life of a beloved radio host and community advocate Keyon Jackson-Malone.
The host of "The Man Show" was a cultural staple in Milwaukee for 11 years, who was dedicated his time and philanthropy to the Atkinson Park neighborhood.
People at the celebration told CBS 58 that Jackson-Malone had a huge heart, with a lot of love for his community.
"I'm so thankful to the community that they loved him as much as we did and as much as he loved this area. He put a lot of heart and soul into this area," said Tyra Merriweather, Jackson-Malone's sister.
In an effort to continue Keyon's legacy, the event featured a number of community resources, including free haircuts, backpacks, and sneakers for kids getting ready for another year of school.
