WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Before the Wisconsin State Fair's opening ceremony Thursday, state and local leaders were at a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Governor Tony Evers was among them. There ceremony was held in front of The Dairy Building, formerly known as The Original Cream Puff Pavilion.
The Dairy Building recently finished renovations, just in time for the State Fair.
Gov. Evers says the upgraded building and cream puffs are good for the state.
"It begins with the cream puffs," Gov. Evers said. "People love them, everybody loves them. Making that more homey, more open, and not so crowded, things to learn...it's also educational."
Some of the upgrades include ample lighting, a new state-of-the-art bakery to increase the efficiency of cream puff creation, and a bit of a name change from the original name -- The Dairy Building.
