MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Charges are filed against a man accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy in a bathroom at Humboldt Park.

Daniel Mangert, 36, is still awaiting his first appearance in court but he is no stranger to law enforcement. He was charged with a similar crime in 2005.

According to a criminal complaint, Mangert offered to show the victim where the men's restroom was when his mother was busy trying to get ice for her daughter who had just been hurt. When the victim's mother called into the bathroom looking for her son, she got no response. Another man says he saw Mangert leaving a bathroom stall with the child. The mother confronted him and he fled on a bike.

It's something one mother says she can't believe happened in her own neighborhood.

"Actually, that makes me feel really frightened although for my children as well because I do live around this area as well and it's kind of spooky that our children do play around this area and somebody was sexually assaulted here," said local mom Sasha Steele.

The complaint says Mangert tried to jump to his death after the assault. He was injured but is in police custody facing charges of child enticement, exposing himself to a child, and sexual assault.
