MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Charges have been filed against a Milwaukee man in the fatal crash that occurred near 20th and Galena on Nov. 12.

Eighteen-year-old Antonio Willis is accused of leading police on a pursuit in a stolen vehicle, ending in crash that killed 60-year-old Clarence Bibbins.

According to a criminal complaint, a Milwaukee police officer attempted to stop the stolen Jeep near 17th and Galena, but the driver -later identified as Willis- refused to stop. The complaint says Willis continued to flee for .12 miles, reaching speeds of 70 mph in a residential neighborhood and running a stop sign at 20th and Galena, ultimately striking a Pontiac that had the right of way.

The driver of the Pontiac died of his injuries at the scene. The passenger of the Pontiac was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.

Prosecutors say Willis ran from the scene following the crash but was caught by a responding officer. Citizen witnesses confirmed Willis as the driver, however Willis repeatedly told officers that he was in a parked car.

When questioned by a detective, Willis admitted to being in the Jeep, but stated that he was in the back seat and exited through the driver's door. He denied knowing who the driver was, since it was "dark in the car."

Willis faces the following charges:

  • Second degree reckless homicide
