Child Identified who Died in Brown Deer Crash
UPDATE: The mom said she needs some time, but will likely hold a vigil for her daughter.
The vigil will not be at the crash site.
UPDATE: The Medical Examiner has released the name of the 3-year-old who died Thursday night in the vehicle roll-over crash in Brown Deer.
R'moni Little-Smith died due to blunt force head injury. Reports from the medical examiner say all three in the car were ejected from the vehicle when it crashed.
The boyfriend of the mother was the driver of the vehicle. Brown Deer Police say the driver has been released from the hospital and is currently residing in the Milwaukee County Jail pending charges.
The mother was not notified immediately of the death because she was working.
According to the report, indications report to reckless driving by the boyfriend, saying the car was traveling around 90 miles per hour.
ORIGINAL: A 3-year-old girl has died as the result of a one vehicle roll-over crash at N Sherman Blvd and N Teutonia Avenue, Thursday night. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner confirms that the child died around 10:20 PM in the Children’s Hospital Emergency Room.
Brown Deer Police and North Shore Fire Department responded to the roll-over accident around 9:30 PM and found a 2006 Pontiac 4-door on its side in the street. The 35-year-old driver and two children were already out of the vehicle when first responders arrived. The North Shore Fire Department transported the two children with critical injures to Children’s Hospital where the 3-year-old died. The driver, who is from Milwaukee, was taken NSFD to Froedtert Hospital with what was reported as serious injuries.
According to the Brown Deer Police, the preliminary investigation by the BDPD and Wisconsin State Patrol found that alcohol and speed may be factors in the crash. Charges are expected to be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office early next week.

Two children have been critically injured in a rollover accident involving two vehicles. The accident took place just before 10 p.m. near the intersection of Sherman & Teutonia in Brown Deer. North Shore Fire Department says that two patients were taken to Children's Hospital with critical injuries and that one adult in serious condition was taken to Froedtert Hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Brown Deer Police Department. The intersection remains closed right now while crews evaluate the scene.
