Homicide investigation underway after 10-year-old missing Chippewa Falls girl found dead

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities report Iliana "Lily" Peters was found dead Monday, April 25. The girl's death is now being investigated as a homicide.
According to the Chippewa Falls Police Department, Peters was found dead in the wooded area near the Duncan Creek Trail.
The Chippewa County Coroner confirmed the deceased body was of Peters. No one is in custody.
Chippewa Falls Police Chief Matthew Kelm says they are following multiple leads, and there may be a danger to the public.

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Chippewa Falls police are searching for a missing 10-year-old girl.
Iliana Peters, who goes by the name Lily, was reported missing by her father around 9 p.m. Sunday, April 24.
Peters is a fourth grader at Parkview Elementary School.
Police report Peters did not return home from a visit to her aunt's house in the 400 block of North Grove Street.
According to authorities, Peters was supposed to be heading home to the 50 block of East Birch Street.
A bicycle, believed to belong to Peters, was found in the woods a short distance from her aunt's home near a walking trail.
K-9 teams have been called in to help with the search, along with a drone. Door-to-door canvassing was conducted overnight.
Peters was last known to be wearing a purple 1/4 zip long sleeve shirt with black stretch pants and gray shoes.
