MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Historic Third Ward Association will host its annual Christmas in The Ward event Friday, Dec. 6 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Catalano Square.
Jordan Dechambre of the Historic Third Ward Association previewed the event when she joined us on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
A tree lighting ceremony is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m., led by Santa Claus and Milwaukee dignitaries. Performances by the Bach Chamber Choir and Sarah Fierek will follow. A fireworks display over the Milwaukee River is scheduled for 7 p.m., with a light show also taking place on the Hoan Bridge.
The event will feature food trucks offering pizza, donuts, and other treats, as well as s’mores roasting, live reindeer and costumed characters. A cookie sale and $5 suggested donations for Santa photos will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin.
The evening concludes with an afterparty at Camp Bar on Menomonee Street.
Parking is available for $10 at two Third Ward structures starting at 5 p.m. The structures are located at 212 N. Milwaukee St. and 225 E. Chicago St. Payment is accepted via cash or card.
