Local financial pro offers tips for sticking to a holiday budget
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Historic Third Ward will celebrate the holiday season with its 34th annual Christmas in the Ward event on Friday, Dec. 1. The festivities will commence in Catalano Square, highlighted by the tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. and a firework display over the river at 7 p.m.
This family-friendly event, running from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., is free to the public, offering activities that include live music, food trucks and a chance to meet Santa Claus.

The Milwaukee Police Band will perform at 5:30 p.m., followed by a tree lighting ceremony featuring Santa Claus, Mayor Cavalier Johnson and other Milwaukee dignitaries. The evening will also include performances by the Bach Chamber Choir and the Renewed Spiritual Gospel.
Families can visit Jolly's Gingerbread House from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. to meet Santa, with a suggested $5 donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin.
The event concludes with a Light the Hoan Holiday Show at 8 p.m. and an after-party at Santa Camp, located at 525 E. Menomonee St.
