Complaint: Milwaukee man charged in human trafficking and sexual assault case

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man is facing multiple felony charges, including human trafficking, second-degree sexual assault and false imprisonment in a case detailed in a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
According to the complaint, 39-year-old Austin Chronister of Milwaukee operated a coercive household on West State Street where he allegedly controlled multiple women through physical violence, financial exploitation and psychological manipulation. The complaint states that between 2017 and 2023, victims were required to sign contracts, follow strict household rules and engage in sexual acts under duress.
The acts allegedly took place at Chronister's home located near 31st and State in Milwaukee, a home that Chronister reportedly dubbed "House Saint Pierre," with Saint Pierre being the name he requested victims to change their surname to.
One victim reported that she was forced to wear a collar in the home and turn over a significant portion of her income to Chronister. Investigators say she was subjected to physical punishments, including beatings and choking, if she attempted to resist.
Another victim described a violent assault in which she lost consciousness and awoke to find herself being sexually assaulted.
The complaint details allegations that Chronister used intimidation and threats to prevent victims from leaving, including threatening victims with being injected with harmful substances, confiscating personal documents and restricting contact with family. Investigators state that women in the home were assigned numbers and branded with tattoos as a form of control.
Further charges are pending additional information, according to the complaint.
