Construction barrel from Wisconsin washes ashore in Michigan, gets the royal treatment

MUSKEGON, Mich. (CBS 58) – All the way from Milwaukee, a big and bright construction barrel made its way to Muskegon, Michigan.

According to post on the Muskegon Government Facebook page, the city has since embraced “Darrel the Barrel” as one of their own after he washed up on shore at Pere Marquette on Oct. 8.

Community members were asked for suggestions where Darrel the Barrel should visit.

Darrel the Barrel toured downtown Muskegon on Oct. 9; pictures show him posing with local landmarks and city artwork.

“Darrel the Barrel may not be beautiful himself, but he does enjoy looking at lovely artwork… He can’t believe we have so much art within just a few blocks of one another,” a Facebook post reads.
