County Board approves proposal that would allow undocumented immigrants to get licenses

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Undocumented immigrants in Milwaukee County are one step closer to getting driver's licenses.

The County Board approved the proposal from Supervisor Sylvia Ortiz-Velez.

Ortiz-Velez says expanding access to driver's licenses would make roads safer and let undocumented immigrants get to work.

The resolution will now be sent to Governor Tony Evers and other leaders in the legislature.
