City of Milwaukee Health Department launches second dose COVID-19 vaccine incentive program
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new COVID-19 vaccine program is set to begin Thursday, Oct. 21, for city of Milwaukee residents over the age of 12 who receive their second dose of the vaccine.
The health department says while supplies last, anyone who receives their second dose at the Northwest Health Center at 7630 W. Mill Road, the Southside Health Center at 1639 S. 23rd Street, or the Menomonee Valley site at 2401 W. St. Paul Avenue, will also receive a $25 U.S. Bank gift card on site.
The City of Milwaukee Health Department has 1,000 gift cards to distribute for this program.
“It is crucially important for everyone to complete their COVID vaccination series to be protected from the virus,” said Health Commissioner Kirsten Johnson. “With this incentive program, we hope to encourage those who only got their first shot to prioritize getting their second.”
Everyone who is eligible to receive the free COVID-19 vaccine is eligible to receive the gift card, regardless of insurance, ID, or citizenship.
Individuals under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian present to receive their vaccine and incentive.
