Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Gravy
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police need your eye to help recognize a suspect who jumped over a Walgreens counter and demanded drugs.
Surveillance images were taken as the man left the Walgreens on W. Wisconsin and N. 35th Street. Detectives say just moments before, he jumped over the pharmacy counter, tossed the pharmacist a bag and told them to fill it up.
The whole time, police say his hand was in his pocket, indicating he might have a weapon. He pushed the pharmacist, got some pain pills, then ran out of the Walgreens.
Images are from a solar pole camera, so they're pretty clear.
This happened Aug. 2 before noon, and detectives say it's roughly the tenth Walgreens robbery in the city this year.
"The clearance rate, or capture rate, is high, and we want to keep them high to keep the number of occurrences low," said Tony Castro, MPD detective. "In this instance, we are fortunate enough to have high resolution images of the suspect in the parking lot, which will help the public see, and possibly recognize this individual."
If you recognize this suspect, call Milwaukee Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS. You can also submit a tip through the P3 Tips app.
Giving a tip is always anonymous. If your tip leads to an arrest, you get a cash reward.
