MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Young people with a bright future were celebrated in Milwaukee Wednesday, during Senior Signing Day at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.

For the eighth year in a row, 100% of Cristo Rey's graduating class has been accepted into college, and that's cause for celebration.

This ceremony is a tribute to the students' hard work, and we got a chance to talk to senior Mirian Cruz-Martinez, who's been accepted at Princeton University, where she plans to study psychology.

"Just having like, the underclassmen be here is really important to me, because I'm able to show them that like, they can pursue higher education as well, and that they're not limited to what they have always known," Cruz-Martinez said.

"A lot of our students are first-generation students, and attending a four-year university is something very new to not just them, but their families," Heidi Ancira, Cristo Rey college counselor, said. "So having their families be able to witness that moment is just -- it's beyond exciting."

Some of the students spoke at Wednesday's event, and scholarships were announced as well.
