GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Packers fans watched Mason Crosby kick off for nearly 20 years, but this will be different.
"That's why I'm joking I'll kick a ball into the crowd," Crosby said. "I'll be the official kickoff for this draft."
Mason is part of what he calls the Packer hype squad for the NFL Draft.
"Jordy (Nelson) is going to be there, I know Nick Collins is in town, James Jones. Clay (Matthews) said he's got something planned. He's going to get the crowd going."
The Packers legends will be around the draft all week.
"It's going to be special just to feel that energy. It's so exciting for these young players to step into their new team. Fill that next role and journey in their professional career. So that kind of energy and buzz is going to be palpable."
As for the draft itself, Mason wants the Packers to trade up and go for the home run swing, but that's not what he's expecting.
"My heart says go get a wide receiver, develop that out. Try to get your number one for the future. I just think they'll probably go edge rusher."
Green Bay has eight picks in the draft for now, including the 23rd pick in the first round.
