CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Pork King Good, a Cudahy-based pork rind company, reached new heights as a finalist in the Most Innovative Salty Snack Category at the 2023 Sweets and Snacks Expo in Chicago late last month.
The recognition cements the company's name among 300+ product submissions scrutinized in the annual innovation awards program.
Owners Lauren and Rick Koston, along with the previous owner of the Porkie Co. of Wisconsin, Tom Rydeski, joined us on Thursday, June 8 to discuss details.
The Most Innovative New Product Awards utilized three weighted criteria: taste, innovation and packaging. This process involved 30 judges from leading retailers and distributors, embodying nearly 85% of U.S. confectionery and snack industry buying power.
Pork King Good, founded by Lauren Koston in 2018, stands as the only woman-owned pork rind manufacturer in the country.
