Maxwell Anderson trial day 7: New video shows Anderson & Robinson together 3 days before her disappearance
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The seventh day of the Maxwell Anderson murder trial wrapped up Wednesday after some of the densest, but most important testimony of the trial.
The jury learned about DNA testing, as a forensic scientist delivered test results.
The bottom line is no significant DNA from Sade Robinson was found in Maxwell Anderson's home, clothing, or other evidence.
Let's start with three bloody latex gloves that were found on the beach at Warnimont Park one week after Sade's leg was found. A forensic scientist swabbed those gloves, both the inside and outside, and neither Anderson nor Robinson's DNA were on them. The blood was not Sade's or Anderson's.
Milwaukee County Assistant DA Ian Vance-Curzan: “You analyzed the swabs from blood stains from the first latex glove and third latex glove?"
Forensic scientist Sharon Polakowski: “Those had the same profile."
Milwaukee County Assistant DA Ian Vance-Curzan: "As each other?”
Forensic scientist Sharon Polakowski: “As each other. Yes, they appear to be the same, and Sade Robinson and Maxwell Anderson are both excluded as the source of DNA.”
The state crime lab also tested dozens of items and stains in Anderson's home. Sade did test on Anderson's sweatshirt, but not on bedding, knives, or other items.
A clip of a security camera video at Victor's bar showed Sade Robinson walking in March 29. The next clip showed her leaving with Maxwell Anderson. These clips were recorded three days before she went missing, when Robinson and Anderson were believed to have met for a first date. But the new video shows they were together three days earlier.
The jury was shown dozens more videos of Sade Robinson's car driving throughout the area after she went missing.
We know Sade Robinson's car arrived at Maxwell Anderson's home the night of April 1, and we know it was set on fire the morning of April 2.
These videos seek to show the path the car took between those two points.
The prosecution and a dozen detectives who tracked down the video sought to show the jury where Sade Robinson's car was spotted, trying to connect dots throughout the area, to Warnimont Park, then back north until Sade's phone stopped pinging its location.
The state and detectives repeatedly pointed out the car's distinctive taillights to show it was the same vehicle in all the clips.
But there is another distinctive trait in all the videos of the car: all the windows are fogged up or covered in condensation.

Defense Attorney Anthony Cotton: "There's nothing, to be clear, any of the videos that you've watched, that ever show Max Anderson driving Sade's car?"
Detective Rachel Smith: "That is correct."
Defense Attorney Anthony Cotton: "Even the ones you just testified to this morning where you had said, in fact, all you can determine is a Honda Civic left Max's house?"
Detective Rachel Smith: "That is correct."
Defense Attorney Anthony Cotton: "You can't say that Max actually drove that car?"
Detective Rachel Smith: "Correct."
After all the videos were shown, a detective marked on a map all the locations of the videos they had just shown, tying things together and effectively tracing a route they are confident the car took. But the defense pointed out there are some gaps between the videos.
