Decorated Sheboygan County high school volleyball coach suspended

HOWARDS GROVE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A decorated high school volleyball coach from a Sheboygan County high school has been suspended.

Some parents attended a heated meeting over the issue last night.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association tells us sanctions were placed against the Howards Grove girls volleyball team over an eligibility issue.

A Howards Grove spokesperson says, "The school district was found to be in violation of a WIAA membership rule after we submitted a transfer waiver request for a student," and went on to say their investigation found there was "undue influence."

Girls volleyball coach Brett Damrow is now suspended ahead of a postseason volleyball tournament later this month.

Damrow has reportedly led the team to five state championships in 19 years.
