The CBS 58 News team takes ’The Colbert Questionert’
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Bill Walsh has been named weekday news anchor for CBS 58 News at Noon and 4 p.m., effective Monday, Aug. 25.
The veteran anchor will step into the role held by Mike Strehlow, who confirmed his semi-retirement earlier this summer.
Strehlow will continue hosting and producing CBS 58 Sunday Morning each week.
Walsh, who joined CBS 58 in April 2013, said in a Tuesday, July 8 press release that he is honored to accept the new role.
"It’s a privilege to take on this responsibility, and an even greater one to follow in the footsteps of someone as trusted and steady as Mike Strehlow."
He will anchor alongside Amanda Porterfield and meteorologist Rebecca Schuld.
News Director Jessie Garcia said Walsh brings warmth and heart to his broadcasts, adding, "Viewers already know and respect him, and this new team will carry on our tradition of Hometown excellence."
Strehlow’s last weekday newscast is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 21. A successor to Walsh's current weekend anchor position has yet to be named.
