MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- There was a large rally in downtown Milwaukee Friday, with hundreds of attendees.
Video from a quieter event in Lyons Park on the south side shows demonstrators making their point with signs and displays in a wooded, natural setting.
"Everybody's starting to realize how important this is, and that we're running out of trees," said supporter Maddy Glubka. "Those are kind of the lungs of our earth, especially with everything happening in the Amazon. So I think that's what really triggered this, and we really change our habits and change our ways."
Dozens of climate strikes and rallies were scheduled around the state.
