Dining Out for Life expands in Milwaukee to raise HIV funds

Dining Out for Life

MILWAUKEE (CBS 5 8) -- Dining Out for Life Milwaukee will expand to three days this year, running Thursday, Sept. 18 through Saturday, Sept. 20, with more restaurants participating than ever before. The annual fundraiser supports prevention, care and treatment services for people living with HIV through Vivent Health.

Diners can contribute by eating out, ordering takeout or making direct donations. Establishments include Bavette La Boucherie, Ono Kine Grindz, Lakefront Brewery, Amilinda, Goodkind and others.

The weekend will conclude with a community after-party Sunday, Sept. 21 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Club Charlies.

Organizers say the event is especially important following federal healthcare cuts. Vivent Health reports viral suppression rates of 95 percent in Wisconsin, far above national averages.
