MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- First Stage is preparing to bring Disney and Pixar’s "Finding Nemo" to the stage in Milwaukee. The production, set to open Saturday, March 8, will feature a mix of puppetry and live performance to adapt the animated film into a theatrical experience.
Jeff Frank, First Stage artistic director and co-director of the production, and Michael Dean Morgan, co-director, joined us on Thursday, Feb. 27 to chat about how the team is working to bring the underwater world to life. Morgan, who was part of the first stage adaptation of "Finding Nemo" at Disney, talked about translating the film into a live performance.
The production incorporates specialized puppetry techniques and costume design to balance accuracy with stage functionality. First Stage has recommended the show for families, including kids aged 5-12.
