WAUSHARA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- In an update Tuesday, the DNR said the wildfire is now roughly 830 acres and is 99% contained.

Three primary structures and 17 secondary structures have been lost. Officials say the cause of the wildfire is debris burning.

While previous reports have stated various sizes, the DNR says the update to 830 acres is based on the use of infrared/satellite technology.

Eight firefighters have been treated for injuries and released.

Alliant Energy is working to restore power in the area.

Authorities ask the public to use extreme caution as fire danger remains high across many parts of the state Tuesday. Residents are asked to avoid burning until conditions improve.

WAUSHARA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is responding to an 800-acre pallet fire in Waushara County Monday, July 10, that continues to grow.

Officials say the fire began around 1 p.m., southeast of Coloma, and is traveling northeast along Cumberland Avenue, now north of Highway 21.

Thirteen DNR engines, 10 dozers with engines and one air attack plane are on the scene, along with several local fire departments aiding suppression efforts.

The DNR says a few structures have been reported lost. Some evacuations have been made in the area and will continue as needed.

Authorities say contributing factors include warm temperatures, low relative humidity, gusty winds and dry vegetation due to extended drought.

Eleven other wildfires occurred in DNR protection areas Monday and were suppressed.

The cause of this wildfire remains under investigation.
