A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's Trick-or-Treat weekend and the Department of Corrections paired up with local law enforcement to make sure children have a safe Halloween.
Every year they have teams that go out to registered sex offenders' homes to make sure they are not violating the terms of their release.
Today, on Sunday, Oct. 29, they are making more than 200 visits.
"We are basically - the agents and the field supervisors are going out to ensure that they are in their homes an hour before and after trick or treat times, that they don't have decorations, that they are not wearing costumes, that they are not doing anything to engage children in this activity," said Marnie Ohrmund, Department of Corrections Field Supervisor for the City of Milwaukee.
If a sex offender is in any violation, they will be taken into custody.
Ohmund encourages parents to know the neighborhoods that they are Trick-or-Treating in.
