Driver Flees after Four Car Accident on North Avenue Seriously Injures One

Milwaukee Police are investigating a serious injury accident that occurred Thursday, July 29 at 8:38 PM at 17th and West North Avenue. A speeding 1997 Chevy Suburban westbound on North Avenue disregarded the stop light at 17th Street and collided with a 2003 Chevy PT Cruiser which was turning onto North from southbound 17th Street.

The PT cruiser then struck two cars stopped at the light facing eastbound, none of the occupants of the stopped vehicles were injured.

The 35-year-old male driver of the PT Cruiser suffered life threatening injuries and is currently being treated at a local hospital.

The driver of the Suburban is described as a young man and was picked up by a following car and fled the scene.

Police are currently trying to identify the driver and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
