BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- If strength and fitness are in your New Year's resolution, but you're not quite ready for the gym, physical therapy may be a good option for you.

"Nobody knows our own body better than ourselves, right. So, we are going to sit and listen to you, have a conversation, learn from you, hear you-- that guides us a lot with treatment and what our goals are with our treatment," said Will Brucker. "Whether that's an athlete or aging gracefully."

Brucker is the owner of Evolve Physical Therapy. He says physical therapy isn't just for post-surgery or sports injuries.

"Back pain, right? How often do we hear that? Sciatica, I think that's a really common blanket term that many of us have experienced and boy it's quite debilitating," said Brucker.

Physical therapy is becoming a gateway for people to feel better overall. Brucker says he helps people with everything from postpartum to everyday aches and pains.

"We're becoming a little bit more open and vulnerable to what we're feeling and taking care of ourselves, right. We almost had the mantra of 'hey, kick the can down the road and toughen it up' a little bit," he said. "We can actually take ownership and address these things small, so I think people are seeking health and advice sooner than we have previously, so I hope we continue that direction."

Evolve, like most physical therapists, accepts insurance and no doctor referral is needed. Brucker says they'll figure out your insurance for you while you build up your strength and confidence.
