'Elysian Arcs' immersive art exhibit coming to downtown Milwaukee this summer
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A new immersive art experience is coming to downtown Milwaukee this summer.
According to Milwaukee Downtown and the Marcus Performing Arts Center (MPAC), Rainbow Summer: HIGHLIGHT featuring Elysian Arcs will take place on the MPAC outdoor grounds from July 23-27.
Elysian Arcs is described as an outdoor immersive light and sound installation featuring 20-foot-high inflatable arcs.
MPAC says the sculptures are made from a "colour-reflecting dichroic film that reacts to changes in light, causing a rainbow of reflections and a unique picture from every angle."
The installation was created by Atelier Sisu and will be the first exhibition in the United States.
Milwaukee Downtown says the exhibit will be free to see, and each night of Rainbow Summer: HIGHLIGHT will feature a free public performance with live music, vendors, food trucks, and other activities.
