MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A local organization held its first-ever fundraising event Thursday, Oct. 13 and CBS 58's Amanda Porterfield was the emcee.
Employ Milwaukee helps young people in Milwaukee County. Among other things, it matches them up with jobs and job training, and Amanda Porterfield was honored to host their fundraiser at the University Club.
The event was beautifully done with an impressive lineup of people from our community attending.
The keynote speaker was Billye Aaron, an education, philanthropist and the wife of the late baseball legend Hank Aaron.
Executives like Cecelia Gore, with Brewers Community Foundation, were on-hand.
City leaders were there, including Mayor Cavalier Johnson, who was also an Employ Milwaukee intern.
Proceeds from this luncheon will go toward Employ Milwaukee's programs and services.
Employ Milwaukee's CEO Chytania Brown was awarded as well.
