MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Judy Cohen of Lakeside Educational Services provided guidance on maintaining effective communication between parents, teachers and students as the school year progresses when she joined us on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
Cohen emphasized the importance of parents engaging with their children about daily school activities and avoiding vague responses such as "It was good."
She also advised parents of middle and high school students to review class syllabi, familiarize themselves with teacher contacts and ensure that required materials are organized. For younger students, parents should ask about seating arrangements and school supplies, while also maintaining regular communication with teachers.
Specific questions, Cohen noted, yield more detailed responses from students, enhancing a parent's involvement in the educational process.
