Falling tree hits motorcycle passenger in Muskego, kills mother of 2
MUSKEGO, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Stacy Quade, 39, is dead after police say a falling tree hit her while on a motorcycle.
On a long and winding road in Muskego, Quade and her boyfriend were enjoying a motorcycle ride Saturday afternoon, Nov. 15.
"She was the brave one, everybody loved her. Everybody wanted to talk to her or be around her. She was just a light," said Alison Hoshield, Stacy's best friend.
Alison Hoshield wore a jersey representing Quade's favorite team and number, she says they have been friends for the last 32 years.
"We met in second grade we were in girl scouts together. She was my maid of honor. She was the brave one, so she always helped me be more brave and more confident," said Hoshield.
On Saturday, Quade and her boyfriend were riding along Tans Drive near High Bluff Drive. The motorcycle was riding westbound on Tans Drive when the tree hit Quade.
"It was so out of the blue and random a tree would just hit her and knock her off the bike," said Hoshield.
The branch hit and killed Quade who was in the passenger seat.
"It came down and hit Stacy in the face and that's all we know. We all thought how could that happen," said Thomas Quade, Stacy's dad.
Quade says the branch only hit his daughter, Quade's boyfriend who was driving the motorcycle wasn't hurt.
"Police came to the door and informed us... it hit like a ton of bricks," said Quade.
As her loved ones continue to try to come to terms with their new reality, Hoshield says her memory will never be forgotten.
"This is the tattoo we all three had, it's our three hearts. Before her memorial we are going to get some angel wings on one of the hearts so we can look down and be like 'she's with us'," said Hoshield.
Quade's family says her memorial will be in early December.
She leaves behind two children.
