Father of two murdered after interrupting burglary

MILWAUKEE-Christopher John Gray, Jr. was killed overnight after interrupting a burglary at his home near 68th and Lisbon.

Police report no arrests in the case.

It's believed the 27 year old came home around 2:15 in the morning and found two unknown suspects inside his residence, attempting to steal items.

As Inspector William Jessup described it, \" The victim confronted the suspects and a fight ensued.  During the fight the victim sustained injuries that resulted in his death.\"

Gray's Aunt Barbara remembers him.

\"He loved his kids, he loved his family, we are a very, very, very close knit family,\" his aunt said.

\"It's not fair, it's really not fair, now we got to go and bury my nephew because of something stupid, something like money.\"

Family and friends are asking the public to come forward with information on the identities of the suspects.

It's believed the culprits knew the victim in some way, explaining why they targeted his residence.

A vigil was held Monday night at the corner of 68th and Lisbon to bring more attention to the case and remember the father who loved his two beautiful sons and had much to live for.
