Fatigue and brain fog may cause more people to lean into functional health in 2026

WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- There are some health trends in 2025 that doctors and nurses in the healthcare industry are only expecting to grow. People aren't taking "you're fine" as an answer. Instead, they're not just focused on traditional medicine and treating symptoms of their illnesses. More and more people are looking at functional medicine to find to roots and underlying cause of problems.

"Fatigue is a big issue for some people. Brain fog and cognition is something I've seen a lot of [people struggle with]. The desire to get rid of those things so that they can be there for their kids and they can have energy at the end of the night to connect with their partner, and they can wake up energized and ready to go for their workday. Those are things people need to have to feel happy," said Morgan Ellingson, founder of MDRN Wellness.

Some of the popular treatments being offered include peptides, hormone replacement therapy, IV vitamins and red-light therapy.

One word that Ellingson is hearing a lot of around wellness already this year is "longevity."

"So, we're looking a lot at people becoming more aware of their inflammation in their body, which has led to a desire to initiate peptides for metabolic function and an increase in the desire for body composition changes. So, 'how can I build muscle mass?  How can I reduce inflammation in my body?'"

MDRN Wellness offers full lab workups that personalized plans, or visitors can come and use any of the services individually.
