Ferguson police now equipped with body cameras

FERGUSON, MO -- Police officers in Ferguson, MO are being equipped with body cameras. This development comes weeks after the shooting of Michael Brown by a Ferguson police officer.

The body cameras now used by the Ferguson Police Department record both audio and video. Their batteries last about 12 hours, and clip right on to an officer's shirt.

A private company donated three body cameras after Michael Brown was killed. Then, a second company donated 50 more body cameras to the Ferguson Police Department.

Ferguson Police Chief Department Tom Jackson says body cameras would have made a huge difference in how the shooting of Michael Brown was investigated. \"How many shots fired, was he coming toward running away, what was the conversation between them,\" says Jackson.
