MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Leaders want to know why they learned about the Sterling Brown video around the same time the public did.
They’re calling on MPD to review their handling of the Sterling Brown case.
The Fire and Police Commission made the request at their meeting tonight. They also want Chief Morales to explain the rationale behind his punishments and they want to hear any recommendations about how to move forward.
The Commission asked police to finish their review and present it to them by the end of the month.
Three officers were disciplined in Sterling Brown’s arrest. One sergeant was suspended for 15 days, a second sergeant for 10 days and a responding officer for two days. Their names will not be released until the officers have exhausted their right to appeal.
Sterling Brown says he will sue the Milwaukee Police Department.
