Fire damages Milwaukee apartment, 1 firefighter injured
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A fire damaged a three-story apartment building near 70th and Glenbrook early Thursday, Nov. 28, according to the Milwaukee Fire Department.
Fire crews were dispatched at around 10 a.m. and arrived to find a fire in a second-floor apartment that had extended to the third floor and the roof. Due to the building's size and the potential for fire in the attic, additional units from the Milwaukee and North Shore Fire Departments were called to the scene.
A firefighter sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a hospital.
MFD says that all residents were able to evacuate the building without injury. The American Red Cross was called to assist one resident.
The fire department and Milwaukee Police Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
