First Stage's Sensory Friendly Performance schedule begins in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- First Stage, a theater for young audiences and families, has unveiled a schedule of specialized performances aimed to accommodate children who require sensory adjustments, offering features like modified lighting and sound, quiet areas and a smaller audience size.

Supported by UPAF Kasey’s Fund and Autism Speaks, the Sensory Friendly Performance schedule will offer an inclusive environment for families to enjoy theater together.

The schedule includes a lineup of seven shows. The first, "Dream, Quickie! Dream!" took place on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 3:30 p.m. at Marcus Center’s Todd Wehr Theater.

Still to come are "The Forgotten Girl" on Nov. 4, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical" on Dec. 9, "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical" on Feb. 17, 2024, "Elephant & Piggie’s 'We Are in a Play!'" on March 9, 2024, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid the Musical" on April 20, 2024 and "Escape from Peligro Island" on June 1, 2024.

All performances start at 3:30 p.m., except for "Elephant & Piggie’s 'We Are in a Play!'" which begins at 1:00 p.m.

Tickets are priced at $10 and are currently available for purchase weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. by phone at (414) 267-2961 or online at firststage.org, with tickets for performances at the Marcus Performing Arts Center including a $3.50 facility fee.
