Fischer's putback gives MU win over rival Badgers

Luke Fischer's putback with less than 30 seconds to play gave a young Marquette squad an impressive 57-55 road win over Wisconsin, and bragging rights in the in-state rivalry with the Badgers.

Henry Ellenson scored 15 points to lead MU (8-2), but it was Ellenson's miss that became the go-ahead putback bucket by Fischer. Vitto Brown's 15 paced Wisconsin, who rallied from a 14 point second half deficit and tied the game with Nigel Hayes' jumper with less than a minute to play.

Wisconsin lost despite having four players score in double figures. It's the Badgers' second straight home loss to an in-state school, coming three days after Milwaukee pulled out a one point victory on Wisconsin's home floor.

Marquette's seventh consecutive win continues a stretch of great basketball that goes back to a tournament win in New York in November.
