Flags throughout Wisconsin lowered to honor former President Jimmy Carter

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Gov. Tony Evers signed Executive Order #249 on Monday, Dec. 30, directing flags in Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff to honor the passing of former President Jimmy Carter.
Carter died Sunday, Dec. 29 at the age of 100.
"Former President Carter was a committed and dedicated advocate for peace, human rights and treating others with dignity, decency and respect -- qualities that earned him respect and admiration from many across our country and around the world," Evers said in a statement.
The executive order is effective immediately and will remain in place until sunset on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025.
