Stabbing suspect found and arrested in Ozaukee County

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was located at a residence in rural Ozaukee County and was arrested on Saturday, March 23. He was arrested and handed over to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office and is being held on a charge of first-degree intentional homicide. 

Authorities say there was a delay in release of this information because upon capture of the suspect, it was learned the residence he was leaving might be involved in additional criminal activity and a search warrant was obtained and served at that residence overnight.

Lopez-Mendoza’s vehicle was located at a property in rural Calumet County and was seized as evidence for forensic processing in this criminal investigation.


FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Fond du Lac County Sherrif's Office is searching for a 50-year-old who is a suspect in a stabbing. 

The Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a female had been stabbed at a residence on Friday, March 22 around 4:32 p.m. 

50-year-old Fermin Teodoro Lopez-Mendoza is believed to have fled the scene in a maroon colored 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, Wisconsin license plate AJD-9891. He was last seen northbound on CTH K approaching USH 45. The rear window of the vehicle is partially or fully broken out. 

The victim was transported to a hospital for life threatening injuries. 

Authorities ask the public to be on the lookout for the vehicle. The sheriff's office says do not attempt to make contact with the vehicle and immediately call 911 if seen.  

The victim is known to the suspect, and it was not a random attack, according to the sheriff's office.
