MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Food trucks are set to return to W. Capitol Dr., according to Milwaukee Alderman Lamont Westmoreland. He made the announcement in a Thursday, June 13 press release.

The comeback is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, following a brief hiatus.

The Capitol Drive Density-Limited Zone, extending from N. 76th St. to Mayfair Rd., will host the trucks. The comeback aims to minimize congestion and enhance accountability while supporting local businesses.

Westmoreland highlighted the benefits of the designated spaces, stating, "I am very pleased to have the food trucks and vendors return, as they are a staple of local small business in Milwaukee."

He also mentioned in the release that effort is being put into tools that will help remove operators who become nuisances or keep unclean spaces, encouraging residents to reach out to his office with complaints and photos to accompany them.
