Former Badger Coach Jim Leonhard joins staff at University of Illinois

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Former Wisconsin Badger Coach Jim Leonhard has a new job. He's joining the staff at the University of Illinois. 

Leonhard will become a senior football analyst for the fighting Illini, a program led by another former Badger coach, Bret Bielema. 

Jim Leonhard, a former UW player and assistant coach, finished out the 2022 season as interim head coach of the Badgers, taking over after Paul Chryst was fired. 

But Luke Fickell was hired to lead the program for 2023 and Leonhard chose not to be part of the new staff.
