Former Milwaukee Bucks President Peter Feigin presented with key to the city
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- He may not be a native Milwaukeean, but Peter Feigin is now the proud holder of a key to our city.
The former president of the Milwaukee Bucks was presented with the key at a Fiserv Forum ceremony Thursday morning.
Feigin has stepped away from the Bucks organization after 12 years. He was instrumental in the team's success during that period, and he played a big role in the construction of Fiserv Forum and the creation of Deer District.
"I think we had this incredible opportunity that there really wasn't a destination in the city of Milwaukee," Feigin said. "You know, where some cities have parks, some cities have squares, some cities, you know, have their municipal buildings. Here we had this opportunity where nothing existed where you could actually aggregate tens of thousands of people."
An impressive group of hometown leaders attended Thursday's ceremony, along with Giannis Antetokounmpo, who once again is the subject of possible trade rumors as he nurses a calf injury.
"Giannis and I always joke about it and focus on, you know, if you asked him, he's focused on rehab," Feigin said. "All he cares about is getting back on the court. And the one thing that's undeniable, this is his home. This is like where he raised his family. This is like what he loves."
Peter Feigin was also recognized for his commitment to the city of Milwaukee beyond his work with the Bucks.
As for his future, Feigin says he plans to return to New York for a while, but he calls Milwaukee a special place that he could have never imagined.
