Former Waukesha County official facing felony charges, accused of lying about residency

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A longtime public official in Waukesha County is facing several felony charges.

A criminal complaint accuses former Waukesha alderwoman and Waukesha County supervisor Kathleen Cummings of lying about her residency status during nine of her 20 years in public service.

Cummings is charged with five counts of false swearing connected to oaths she took between 2015-2019.

She also faces two counts of election fraud.

Cummings abruptly resigned from both of her positions earlier this week.
