MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- If you’ve ever wanted to explore Lake Michigan but felt intimidated by the big water, a local rental spot is making it easier and more affordable to get your feet wet.
Forward Outdoor's Dock at Discovery World is tucked into a protected inlet within the Summerfest grounds on one side. The spot offers calm water and city views.
Forward Outdoor offers paddle boats for four people for $25, stand up paddle boards, “party” stand up paddle boards for up to five people, kayaks and even hydro bikes.
You can rent out most of their equipment at the Summerfest grounds for the last week of the festival and outside of Lakeshore State Park, at the Dock at Discovery World, Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Forward Outdoor also offers kayak rides on the river in Mequon, Theinsville and Brown Deer.
They aim to keep their prices affordable, so everyone has access to the water and nature in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas.
