FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Franklin firefighters were called to two separate fires within two hours on Wednesday, April 2. One was at an auto salvage yard and the other at a motel.
Crews report that they first responded to the salvage yard fire near the area of 124th and Oakwood around 3:28 a.m. Due to limited access and a lack of hydrants in the area, additional units from Greenfield, Hales Corners and Oak Creek responded, along with water tenders from Tess Corners, New Berlin and Raymond.
Crews controlled the blaze by 4:27 a.m.
Shortly afterward, at 5:32 a.m., authorities received multiple calls about a fire at a motel on S. 27th. All occupants were reportedly evacuated safely.
Both fires are still being investigated, according to the Franklin Fire Department.
